I have made many resolutions this year, and only one that particularly concerns me really.
I resolve to spend money on myself this year.
As selfish as I claim to be, the simple fact of the matter is I have always been very wary of buying anything for myself. Perhaps this is why I still wear shirts I owned in high school maybe? One day I may figure out why that is, but there's a chance I might not.
The point of the matter is I can't let myself care about it anymore. So this year is the year I let myself take care of myself.
All I have to do is get over the laziness now...

So Claire and I meet up for dinner on Thursday night, and after the simply abysmal week I've had, I really needed the company.
I'm not going to talk about any of that here, I just wanted to jot the below for future reference, and note one little bit:
The Civil War isn't all nearly as unbelievable as I told Claire it was that night. This, this is fucking cool. Why the hell didn't I know about this sooner?
Edit: Why the fuck did anyone use cannon when this was available? I thought the tactics of the war were atrocious before learning about this...they're just awful now :P

In an ideal world, something contemporary (I managed not to call it "post-modern," Claire, now that I know what that actually means :P). For example, anything from this website (though in a size larger than 13x19...jeez) would be awesome. Trying to describe what kinda art I like would be akin to trying to describe the perfect woman though...no matter how much I try, it wouldn't be possible, and people would then just be spending all kinds of time and money on nothing :P
On that note, prints from that website are like 10 bucks :P
In other news, I also want this for Christmas. I think I'll get this one myself. It saves me from the alternative...

You know what I'm thankful for right now? Leaving my office on a chilly but not cold Friday afternoon, and having the sun be out.
Yes, the god damned fucking sun. It actually really really pleases me right now.
Granted, the fact that I had to go to work at all on Black Friday makes me slightly less happy, but I can't complain about calling the shots, can I?
